COMPTON HUB CITY

This master plan studies how both the City of Compton and METRO can best leverage the light industrial and big box retail zones of the city within a 1/4 mile radius of the Artesia Blue Line station.

Our scope includes the study and design of gathering areas for the community: parks, plazas, community gardens, protected bike lanes, streetscapes and a network of trails. The project site includes the only soft-bottom portion of Compton Creek, which will be restored and daylighted to become the social heart of the district and neighborhood. A vibrant network of open spaces bring life to a new walkable and bike-able vision for the City of Compton. Our team has worked closely with the City of Compton, neighborhood stakeholders and community-based nonprofits to craft a collective vision through a series of workshops, charettes and events.
