Our vision for the Lancaster development project is deeply connected to addressing gentrification and its impact on Los Angeles County. As property values increase, many individuals have been forced to migrate from South Central Los Angeles to Lancaster and Palmdale. The aim of this project is to equip these displaced individuals with sustainability tools that address financial entrepreneurship and economic disparities, all within one location.
The project’s goal is to create an economy that targets various areas, starting with housing. By developing a lease-to-own model, specifically through duplex-style rent-to-own properties, the project aims to build generational wealth for families in the area as property values increase. This strategy helps transform liabilities into assets for black and brown communities.
Another component of the Lancaster project is the creation of a sports complex. This facility will cater to the high density of athletic talent in the area, providing access to training, staff, and facilities. By increasing access to quality play spaces, young athletes will have better chances to succeed and progress to the next level.
Trade school education plays a crucial role in the Lancaster project, offering career trades that don’t require a degree. By providing certification programs for fields such as hydrogen fueling and EV charging technicians, the project aims to equip community members with skills that lead to above-average incomes. This increase in income will enable residents to invest in entrepreneurship, ultimately raising property values and improving local schools.
