GREEK THEATER

Bringing an iconic performing arts venue back to life.

Nestled in Griffith Park, the Greek Theatre is a premier
outdoor entertainment venue that harmonizes with its natural
surroundings. Designed as a natural amphitheater, it takes
advantage of the park’s canyon terrain for optimal acoustics
and sweeping hillside views. The landscape features a
dense tree canopy of native oaks and sycamores, creating
a shaded, immersive environment. Terraced seating follows
the natural slope, preserving sightlines while maintaining an
intimate connection between performers and audiences.
The theatre’s design also integrates winding pathways,
drought-tolerant plants, and water-efficient irrigation,
ensuring sustainability within the park’s ecosystem.
Its entrance and plaza areas feature stonework,
native landscaping, and open gathering spaces,
blending seamlessly with Griffith Park’s rugged beauty.
Beyond its landscape, the Greek Theatre is a cultural landmark,
hosting world-class music, theater, and live entertainment
since 1930. Its fusion of nature and performance creates
a unique concert experience, making it one of LA’s most
beloved venues. As part of Griffith Park’s cultural fabric, the
Greek continues to shape the city’s entertainment scene
while preserving its deep connection to the surrounding
landscape.
